Course Conditions

The Victorian side of the Australian DogTrainers Academy operates through the Service & Hospitality Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as the Australian DogTrainers Academy - ABN 18 061 447 256). Course leader, Hans van Heesbeen, is a Certified Obedience Dog Trainer, and practicing dog trainer, ( formerly the Victorian Master Franchise for a major in-home  behavioural dog training company), please see www.k9coach.com.au .  

Hans, with Cert. IV in Assessment and Workplace Training qualification, has extensive experience in training people, through the Service & Hospitality Solutions Pty Ltd (please visit www.shsol.com.au) and other training organisations.

A member and formerly secretary of the Australian Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Inc (please visit www.aapdt.org), and a member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers (Australia), Inc (please visit www.apdt.com.au)  Hans deals with canine related matters on a daily basis.

The theory part of the course may be held at a different training facility and no dog will be required. Whilst for the practical part of the course you will be required to have access to a well-socialised dog (ideally 6-months or older, no prior training required). Please see individual course information for location details. Adult Learning principles are applied throughout and ongoing evaluation of desired outcomes takes place during the whole course. There's a lot to learn and it will be great fun but you will need to attend the full course to achieve the competencies set.

Payment methods accepted:

Money Order, Bank Cheque, or Personal Cheques (no less than 3 working days' clearance required) Cheques should be made payable to: Service & Hospitality Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as the Australian DogTrainers Academy - ABN 18 061 447 256). Once full payment is received course confirmation will be issued with all details.

The Victoria division has secure online credit card payment facilities (MC, VISA only) through PayPal

Payment / Cancellation & Refund Policy

In line with industry practice, all courses are to be fully prepaid two weeks prior to commencement of the course. Applications for cancellations and refunds must be made in writing. Our policy is:

  • More than 30 days' notice: Total refund of monies paid.
  • Seven to 29 days' notice Refund minus a $55.00 handling and administration fee.
  • Less than seven (7) days' notice: a cancellation fee of $110.00 applies.
  • Refunds are subject to space being re-sold for the same course date
  • No refund after course has commenced. Refunds are processed in the same way as the original payment, within one working week from receipt of the written request for cancellation and are subject to meeting the above conditions.

Change of Plans

One transfer of date without penalty will be accepted provided it is received no less than two weeks (14 days) prior to the scheduled course date. Should a course fail to attract the minimum enrolment required, the Australian DogTrainers Academy will either transfer you to another date/course, or fully refund monies paid.

In attending Academy training course, students will be solely responsible for all their actions, those of their dog and release the Australian DogTrainers Academy of any implied or possible liability during this course.
