Professional Dog Obedience Trainer Course

Become a certified, reward based, dog training professional and join us for the 'Conduct Companion Animal Training Classes ACMCAS410A', which Scope & Official Competency details are available by clicking 'more info'. This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the process of conducting training classes, for dogs and their owners that include behavioural training in obedience, and socialisation. Training animals and their owners requires knowledge of different animals and breeds, of different training equipment, of different training methods. It also requires communicating with and directing handlers during classes. Training will be conducted in group sessions. This intensive 8-week course (run over 9 weeks) includes at eight Saturday theory / simulations days in Burwood and on Sundays a very hands-on practical part with all student trainers attending. This is where you will actually run classes under supervision - on Sunday mornings. NB: one week break has been listed at half time, so actual duration is 9 weeks. A Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for ACMCAS410A will be issued for the course upon satisfactory completion of all assessments and when deemed competent. Requirements: Some sessions will be you training your fellow students and their dogs. On the Sundays you will also run basic obedience classes or puppy classes @ Burwood with real clients and their dogs. You will be the trainer, the person designing, costing and marketing the course. Positive reinforcement applied with special techniques . Access to a well socialised dog with a valid C5 immunisation and registration. Minimal computer skills and internet access and/or library access for internet usage for project work and research. It is strongly recommended that you are familiar with what a dog trainer does, and as such please visit some dog training schools and observe, prior to enrolling for this course. This intensive course requires a 100% attendance. NB: For practical reasons students may also be recommended to attend regular classes held on WED/THU evenings @ Burwood

Disclaimer: Dogs need to have current vaccination and be properly socialised. All courses are subject to min/max numbers and all course bookings need to be prepaid in advance. Course fee includes extensive manual, trainers kit and is fully catered for on Saturday. PREPAYMENT DISCOUNT: As per the AQTF payment rules, prepay deposit of $995.00 when booking 30 days in advance.
