Professional Dog Obedience Trainer Course

Become a certified, reward based, dog training professional and join us for the 'Conduct Companion Animal Training Classes RUV4512A', which Scope & Official Competency details are available by clicking 'more info'. This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the process of conducting training classes, for dogs and their owners that include behavioural training in obedience, and socialisation. Training animals and their owners requires knowledge of different animals and breeds, of different training equipment, of different training methods. It also requires communicating with and directing handlers during classes. Training will be conducted in group sessions. This intensive 10-day course will be delivered for six theory / simulations days in Burwood and for the very hands-on practical part all student trainers will meet at and agreed location where you will actually run obedience classes under supervision. Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued for the course upon satisfactory completion of all assessments. Requirements: Some sessions will be you training your fellow students and their dogs, but you will also run 2x a 4-week basic obedience class class @ and agreed location with real clients and their dogs. You will be the trainer, the person designing, costing and marketing the course. Positive reinforcement applied with special techniques . Access to a well socialised dog with a valid C5 immunisation and registration. Minimal computer skills and internet access and/or library access for internet usage for project work and research. It is strongly recommended that you are familair with what a dog trainer does, and as such please visit some dog training schools and observe, prior to enrolling for this course. This intensive course requires a 100% attendance.
