This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the process of conducting training classes, for dogs and their owners that include behavioural training in obedience, and socialisation. Training animals and their owners requires knowledge of different animals and breeds, of different training equipment, of different training methods. It also requires communicating with and directing handlers during classes. Training will be conducted in group sessions. Requirements: The e-learning courses requires minimal/medium computer skills and internet access and/or library access for internet usage for project work and research. Access to video camera and facilities to produce V-CD and/or DVD is a requirement. Assessment details to be advised at the time of enquiry/enrollment. We strongly recommend that students visit some dogtraining organisations prior to enroling.

Requirements: The FREE 'Try before you buy' site is hosted by EDNA, a government initiative we appreciate using. The EDNA rules & system need to be followed, so all participants have to register with EDNA. This is why we email you clear instructions. For the actual course you need to have access to a PC / Internet / ideally camera and microphone / digital camera and ideally video equipment. We have guidelines how to do the assessments and especially the practical ones and this information will be supplied as part of the welcome manual and equipment you get as part of the course fee.
